Close To God the Children Are
CLOSE TO GOD THE CHILDREN ARE
Ever-look deep into the eyes of a child;
CLOSE TO GOD THE CHILDREN ARE
Don't you see first the innocent;
For all the wrongs choices and disobedient;
Not all from the devil;
So it's right on the level;
For when you picture it;
Just believe it;
CLOSE TO GOD THE CHILDREN ARE
Matters of the choice;
Not always sweet nor complete;
In those quiet times;
those children are, close to God the children are;
When they are alone within their minds;
those children are, close to God the children are;
When they stand before you looking so sweet;
When they walk run to you on their feet;
Look ever into those beautiful eyes;
Look upon that sweet innocents;
CLOSE TO GOD THE CHILDREN ARE
They're more good than disobedient;
So it's right on the level;
For when you picture it;
Matters of the choice;
Not always sweet nor complete;
In those quiet times;
those children are, close to God the children are;
When they are alone within their minds;
those children are, close to God the children are;
When they stand before you looking so sweet;
When they walk run to you on their feet;
CLOSE TO GOD THE CHILDREN ARE
