Cloak and Dagger

Sadness has overcome me, fear too. For all that I know, I can't tell you. Secrets abound and I'm underground. Cloak and dagger, faces and facades, diamonds and pearls, more than I wished for when I was a girl. Freedom comes like a windy day and I miss it when it blows away. I snatch the light as it passes by, looking for happiness in the gleam of an eye. By: Carole O'Terry Duet Copyright: 2002 "All Rights Reserved"

I can't identify specifically what in me your poem touched, but touch me, it did. I have felt this way. I love how it is written and the feel in it very much, Carole. This is a read that will stay with me in a most emotional way. All the best ... CayCay

Thank you, CayCay. I'm so glad you were "feeling it". When I first wrote this poem for poetry.com it was banned because of the word, "dagger". Can you believe it? lol Anyway, thanks again for your comments. Carole
