Climb On the Merry-Go-Round

Opportunities missed by the score
    never to come 'round anymore

Each time my knees shudder and knock
clanging tick of the circus clock

I take a chance, climb on the merry-go-round
frowning, the smile of the clown

The visual of a merry-go-round! Round and round we go, sometimes thrown, sometimes up and down, passing our past, reaching for our future, seeing loved ones leave and others join…strangers that we learn to love…time is passing…passing…we are but passengers on the merry-go-round!

Gosh. Deep stuff, Kim. Sounds more like a 'go-round' than a 'merry-go-round' to me!

Horsey, Horsey, don't you stop Just let your feet go clippety clop Your tail goes swish, and the wheels go round. Giddy up, we're homeward bound.
