Climb

Climb

On reaching atop the mountain of life,
I turned around, glanced to see how far I'd climbed,
A broken, unruled path was mine,
Rocks and thorns and tremors defined.

The decisions I made,
The regrets I had,
Distant down the path I laid,
From where I stood, they didn't look bad.

The view from up here beautiful.
I made the climb to see this sight,
This was heaven for me,
And others who followed me up will see,
How beautiful life truly is,
The climb worth the tale,
To inspire others to spread their sails,
And choose the climb over the regretful walk,
Enjoy the view from the mountain top.

Great imagination looking back on life, I look back everyday to see what I can do to make it better for today. Great read. Rohan, did you mean, "On reaching the mountain top of life?"

Thank you Ken. I meant that life is like a mountain. There are those who make the climb, dream, believe and achieve and there are those who stay down, where it's populated and not adventurous. Life is the mountain, we are all mountaineers and on reaching the top, you look back and see where you stand, the ground you have covered and how beautiful it it from the top. Thank you once again :)

I hope that when I reach the end of my life, that I can look back and be proud of what I've accomplished along the way.... You have written a truly inspiring poem here, Rohan. Wonderful work!
