We talk of global warming, Nature turning on the heat. The earth is cracked and blistered, Our mistakes hard to delete. Then comes global flooding, In symmetry it will meet. The earth is wet and soggy, It’s too late for our retreat. Just playing with you and loved the pun handle. I had one for Chopin but I will spare you. Thanks for all the fun.

For some reason this one leaves me singing "...is that all there is, .if that's all that there is, then let's keep dancing" ;) Wonderful, creative, potent pithy poem, congratulations on your win Paul, and thank you! :) xomo

Hi Paul, yes, our world is being slowly destroyed. We cannot delete our mistakes Paul but hopefully we can learn from them and change the situation for the better. Global Warming is a major problem. I love the content of this serious write my friend. The last two lines say it all for me. One day we may have to entreat the Messiah to save things, even that may be done too late. I do like the form my friend. This work is creative and real. Have a wonderful Friday. Your friend always....Mike. Vave.

Collectively we need to turn things around. The harshness of our winter storms should give pause to many who keep denying we have a global warming problem. A great entry Paul! : )

Thank you, Connie. Most of us are aware of this serious problem, and yet not enough is being done to solve it. World leaders have the power and duty to do so. Regards // paul

Gobal warming is a very hot potato to handle especially when a great number of the worlds population are guilty of partaking in this earth blistering dilemma, our mistakes are hard to delete and your referral to the Messiah to whom we should entreat, is so apt when you bring Handel into the equation - We should all one day hopefully sing Hallelujah - went back to school today! Great poem Paul, a very clever poem, well done and good luck. Poetry hugs, Jennifer.

Thank you, Andrea. It's said that Nature knows how to look after itself....and that would include the downfall of mankind!

Hey, I love your "Calipus" form, Paul. We cannot "delete" the damage done to our environment, but there are some steps we can take to help our planet heal. We're just running out of time. Enjoyed the reference to Handel's "Messiah," Paul. Hope your sister is doing well. Hugs, Carolyn

paul, it will take mankind triple work to resurrect how nature was in its purest form... we need to all cooperate on this one, then perhaps, healing will start... a disturbingly beautiful verse!...huggs

It will take a long time to get anywhere near to how things should be to correct our mistakes. I can't see things improving either, selfishness' and greed will ring the death knell for our world. Like your reference to Handel. Good luck Paul. Tom.

Certainly the climate discussion is a hot potato to handle. Are we seeking help of the composer Handel? You certainly refer to his work when you mention Messiah then? I give you all the credit for making me search the internet. Intelligent write Paul.

Sorry for getting you to go searching on internet, Vijay:) Light Verse poetry attempts to be humorous; it's brief, and can be on a frivolous or serious subject, and often features wordplay, including puns, and adventurous rhyme. I tried to mix things up a bit. Regards // paul
