Cleansing Smoke
This empty pack of cigarettes
Reminds me of the time we met
We were vibrant and young
We watched the world as we spun
Around
Dancing among all these questions
The heavy glow was making fun
Mocking the future of what was to come
The sun is setting on a love once lost
Anew day is approaching
But at what cost?
Five foot even and burned at the ends
It is goodbye
It is time to mend
These broken promises never kept
You were the blade that clipped
My wings
It is over
We are infectd
And you're addicted
The attention you always craved
Comes with a price
These scars on my lungs
Are my screams as I clung
Onto you
What's the price we pay for perfecton
For affliction
So cover me in ink
And bury me, just bury me
This broken glass is a broken memory
Of the house we used to share
I'll burn it to the ground
As I smoke my last cigarette
It reminds me of the time we met
