Notes About The Poem

We are just so blessed simply because He came here to save us and bring us home with Him.  We may be paupers and beggars on earth but in Heaven we are the children of The King Of Kings. Now we are His twice over, first because He created us with His own hands and breathed the breath of life into us. Second because when we sinned and turned away from Him He valued and loved us so much that He sent His Own Precious Son to save us from eternal damnation.  Want to see a real live hero?  Well There He Is.

Cleanse Me, Lord

Create a new heart within me Lord.
I pray Thee, renew my spirit,
That when Death comes for me and time is no more,
I will have no need to fear it.

Let me please You in all of my ways,
And let my words not offend Thee;
That when I stand before Your throne,
I'll have no need to fear when You judge me.

As a man thinks, so is he, You said,
So let my thoughts please You always.
Enter my mind and my heart this day,
That I'll not be barred at Your gateway.

Of all Your servants I'm far from the best,
And if not for Jesus I'm lost;
But He sought me and bought me with His Precious Blood,
And He didn't give thought to the cost.

Thank You My Father for Your Precious Son,
And thank You Dear Jesus for coming.
Because You have come now all things are new.
A bright new day is now dawning.

                   Amen

Beautiful prayer of faith, Judy. I love the hints of Ps. 51 - David's quintessential prayer of personal repentance. This is a wonderful preparation poem for the joy of Easter!
