Class Reunions

Class Reunions
© Ben Burton 1/3/2018

Some may not recognize you
That many seasons by
Not meaning you've aged poorly
As surely as their sight

And memories mistaken
Of whom or where or when
Diminish not the pleasure
Of treasures sealed therein

Old tragedies are weathered
Among rejoicing souls
With recollections sharper
Of happy long agos

No sudden restoration
Of weary legs or hand
Yet, mind games are abundant
Of tag and kick the can

A phalanx of reunions
The class seems less complete
Until that final bell rings
All students fast asleep
