Notes About The Poem

6/12/2026 for This Or That, Vol 39 Poetry Contest sponsored by Edward Ibeh

Clarity Through Static

Static annoys. Purity brings joys.
Chances of clarity may increase
with the application of elbow grease.
I remember that fuzzy TV screen,
and adjusting rabbit years (oldsters know what I mean).
The Dodgers on the radio was bliss
when I tuned out the crackle and hiss.
Even a scientist, by noise, is drowned
till he cleans his data, and finds truth, profound.
Eva Cassidy sings a note so pure
it penetrates the soul for sure.
Love is not mysterious or obscure,
When it's true, it's the heart's cure.
The truth is what I want to hear.
Tell me what's on your mind, my dear.
