Clandestine Stargazing

A spirited moon
   'neath furtive glances,
      anguished mid despair
looked upon hushed
  entangled constellations 
      and heeded a warning,
for he knew well of lavishing
    recherché intricacies,
mattered naught how exquisite,
  nothing lasting could come
    of liaisons's effusive grandeur,
       betwixt clandestine stargazers

I am very impressed. This poem has a beautiful flow to it but a dark underside kept peeking out as I read. This seems like an affair that had no chance of making it in the daylight.
