Citysting
I've been walking through these streets avoiding seeing
how many of these houses are faded
their blues turning to grayish white
the elderly faces sunk in the dry gardens
gates that squeal
thin puppies
the death of the city is flagrant
most buildings and stores
to rent and to sell
I stop at ugly corners
seeinghearing i'm hungry i have cancer
five dish towels five bucks
so I accelerate over the potholes of the avenue
scaring away drunks and homeless people
how good is the shopping center
there yes it seems true to live
