City of Streetlights

I remember stark beautiful nights Blue nebulae, stars shining bright Constellations, mind-bending sights Brilliant moonshine, rising in height And then ascended, our fuzzy lights Heaven vanished, perhaps took flight By David Kavanagh

To witness an illuminated night sky is breathtaking~it is a shame that it is so diminished by the comings and goings of humankind. I really enjoyed reading your monorhyme, beautifully penned! Blessings, Paulette

Thank you so much Paulette, only when on holiday away from the city do I ever get a chance to witness the majesty of the night sky in all its glory, but I should think myself lucky in some city’s around the world they cannot see the sun the atmosphere is so polluted, cheers David

To see the wonders of the sky you have to venture out to the back of beyond, a shame that kids in the cities will probably never see the beauty of the night sky in all its glory. Tom

So right Tom, we used to know most of the constellations and planets as kids, they wouldn’t have a clue today, not their fault just city expansion, and light pollution, cheers David
