City Night
Street lamps send down
their rays
onto the asphalt homeland
A youg couple
embraces
just before evening
sets in
Cars race by the
river
A fisherman leaves his spot
along with a bucket of fish
Our eyes have
have seen the sun and the
moon before
As night draws near
we let out a sigh
darkness is closing in
over parks, buildings and
storefronts
A cat runs through
an alleyway near an
abandoned building
From a bar loud voices
and blaring music
breaks the still of the
night
Yes, we're ready for
nightfall in this teeming
metropolis
we call home
