City Life

To release me from the WOES of city life
I became ADDICTED to walking with my wife
To ABSTAIN would be in VAIN
As we cherished such things in life.

These walks were long and full of vigor
And often left us DRAINED and pained.
But we would never wither and
together we walked moors and tours

Then as the years passed us by
DEMONS appeared but not in the sky.
Demons that made our bones ache
Demons that made our joints feel on fire.

Can this arthritic monster ever be SLAIN
Or will we live our lives in continual pain.
Now DESTINED to live out our city life
The woes have come to live with me and the wife.
