City Blues

The city is rampant with people from all areas of life,
working hard, trying to survive,
The stewards of our fair city tell them help is coming
everyday, yet, only anger and frustration clouds their days,
Professionals and lay citizens are desperately fighting vultures
off their backs, because no one conducts business properly
anymore without giving their associates heart attacks,
Accomplishments are not made in the hours of days,
because of egos and titles getting in the way,
Every person wants to lord it over the next one, without
getting much done, and so the cycle of futility continues, on
and on.........
