Citizen lamentation - 2nd version -

Have you ever noticed the Law is a bit... peculiar?
It treats "Filthy Pigs" like they’re much, much cooler.
I’m a citizen here, not a servant or peasant,
But the way they treat "Equality" is really unpleasant.

My mistakes get a fine and a stern talking-to,
While the "Old Ones" get lunch and a nice ocean view.
I’ve thought about not voting them in anymore,
But apathy’s winning, and frankly, it’s a bore.

I’d go "underground" to escape all the taxes,
But even the afterlife probably has "death-fax-es."
Is this the world’s end? Or just Monday morning?
I feel like my ancestors gave me no warning!

The rulers don’t care if we moan or we cry,
They’re busy eating cake while the world passes by.
But hey, Mother Earth is watching this circus,
And soon the "Big Trumpet" will finally work us!
