Cicada Tryst

..the cacophony of cicada chirpings died down into the silent stillness of this sultry night ..and over there where the giant mango tree sat still on its own vast, dark-green shadow ..a silken silhouette of a white scarf slowly waving from an unseen hand, at long last, assured me ..she had kept her word.
