Church Hurt
Have you ever been angry or been church hurt
Did you leave and pull your roots from the dirt
But was it really the church, or just merely the people
The sinners, the gossipers, not necessarily the steeple
The church is full of sinners and the lost
A place of refuge at all cost
If you've quit the church, if you pulled your roots
Don't lose faith over those little disputes
You'll find that if you extend some grace
That in church you do have a place
Don't slander the church, oh the damage you can do
Imagine how many lives could be lost because of you
Forgive the people, it wasn't the church
Find another church if you prefer
Or keep your roots planted right where you are
We all make mistakes, try to lower the bar
You've been hurt bad, and I can understand
And maybe it's an apology that you demand
But do unto others and forgive for yourself
You don't need an apology to heal oneself
God said forgive, and He'll forgive too
I'd suggest you take heed and do as He'd do
Get healed in church, whichever church you may choose
Just remember, without church, it's you and your family that will lose
The church is a family God made for the people
Don't miss out on life because your feelings are feeble
Find your home ground and start planting more roots
Deep and strong roots where you'll bear many fruits
God rooted in God, get rooted in faith
Get back into church, your family awaits.
