Church Bells Toll

Time for a sermon and a goodbye
It’s a solemn day
One to ponder upon
On the meaning life brings

To our doorstep is pain and suffering
Some joys of moments shared
But if it was going to be this soon
We could have taken more time in life
To live to the fullest
Dance in the rain, take trips to unknown lands
Make memories count each day
And said the right words to many

Church bells toll
And I stand alone
Wondering if its is you in the casket
Shoulders droop, heart breaking
I am not ready to say goodbye yet
This is the time I think of our times together
My brother, my friend, my Bishop

I stand and stare
Your casket, family and friends gathered
My heart is empty and broken all at once
Too soon to leave us
Goodbye for now, till we meet again.
