Chrysanthemums

I’ve always loved the chrysanthemums Bulbs of yellow, purple, orange, and red, Filling in blank spaces in the flower bed Perfect perennials appearing in large sums. We always called them “mums,” for short Loved making corsages of the white ones, Sometimes they remind us of colorful suns I’m told a favorite flower for a royal court.

I, too, love chrysanthemums ('cause the word is fun to spell - ha!). You portray the showy colors of the flower well Milt! Congratulations on your win! Linda

Thank you, Anne. I did not think my poem was first placement material, so I was quite surprised. But, then, I was the only one who wrote about mums. I thought that interesting. too.

They are the perkiest, prettiest, most symmetrical flowers if you ask me.

I'm hopeful, Terry, although it's not especially "poetic."

Mums are so synonymous with Autumn. This are very nicely constructed rhymes, Milt. I've sent you mail.

Thanks so much, Jenna. Yes, there are a few months when mums are about the only flowers available in large supply for weddings, funerals, bouquets, and such.

We need those mums, those colorful suns, the whole package with corsages. Wonderful, Poet!
