Chronicles

She was birthed
into a land of myth
Trapped with bullet wounds
And numerous gunshots

Her dreams were frightened
Surrounded by curses and
tortures
Lost within the broken walls
of her belly

Hope, as she was called
Vomited pains and sadness
Slept with brokenness smiling
on her face

Her body became a home -
A home broken by unworthy
soldiers and deceitful men
Caught in a world of her own

Life was a cloudy nightmare
The world silently defiled her
bright future
And got a beautiful child out of
her

She was raped like a baby
Left bleeding like a pregnant
woman in the emergency room
Her hope was scattered in the
open field

Rockets flew over her head
Rebels danced to jungle songs
preparing for war
She touched her chest but
couldn't find her heart

With all the blood sleeping in
her eyes
She wraps her life into prayers
And trains her lips to speak
of positivity
