Chromatic Aberration

CHROMATIC ABERRATION

There’s another epidemic
Now infecting many a mind
With a source hap academic
Bending thought made colour blind

Viewpoints Green colour of nature
Must be blest, no reservation
Though they hide a scarlet tincture
Mask a socialist dictation

Black Lives Matter is respected
Cross the world now near and far
With its red heart unsuspected
Though it beats a Marxist bar

Red can only be rejected
When it’s on a MAGA hat
Some may then try to correct it
With a sneer and thrown brickbat

Pink once tint of ladies choosing
Air of tender love and grace
Now viragos, furies, shrews in
Street protest wave in-your-face

So-called ‘Anti-Fascist’ hosts
Indulge in Fascist style attack
Unaware that irony gross
Mocks their choice to dress in black!

Chromatic aberrations shifts
Dismay this old curmudgeon’s eye
Yet his spirits still feel lifts
To see red white and blue flown high

Love the use of viragos - new to me. Apt description!

The ones who worked hard to attain an education, a useful skill/trade or two, and who raised a family of law-abiding, hardworking kids --- started smoking pot, extoling the virtues of profligate free love, abandoned all belief in the Creator... and are now paying a hefty price for tearing down the pillars of civilization. As you can see, it's being replaced with hellish satyrs, like the thugs of the Antifa, BLM, and Proud Boys. Extremists all -- their 'causes' a smokescreen for hooliganism

Thanks for your thoughtful response, Gershon. Smokescreens for destruction indeed. It is easy to be seduced by their imagery, that tends to invalidate our own observation. See also my reply to Andrea. Distinguishing truth can be difficult, but is possible, requiring a degree of honest self belief.

I totally get this. Something is very "off" in this world. Does not take a rocket scientist to get it, yet many just don't seem to see.

Thank you for your valued response, Andrea. Those who paint the scenery and weave the tapestry that becomes the second hand reality for our perception have high degrees of craft though low levels of wisdom. I speak of the ‘media’, of academia, of show business and of political movements; they colour the world that is perceived and is a an easy substitute for simply looking, observing what is actually there.
