Notes About The Poem
I composed this poem in honor of the innocent children who recently were unmercifully murdered in US and also the victims of the typhoons in the northern part of the Philippines (i'm also in deep sympathy and in grief because of what had happened with them especially this Christmas season)
Christmas Wishes
In this season of the year, I’m still so sad and lonely,
As I sit on your lap, please listen to all my wishes lovingly;
May you play my dad’s role to cheer my broken and lonely heart
Papa Santa, this is one of my wishes this coming Christmas.
I heard the gruesome news about unmerciful murders,
Children were the primary victims, my heart terribly suffers;
May their kith and kin be comforted and can endure the hurt
Papa Santa, may my wish for them be granted this coming Christmas.
Natural calamities happened in some neighboring countries,
Many people had lost their lives, love ones and lot of their properties;
May we all have the spirit of generosity to share and do our part
Papa Santa, even in a simple way we’ll make them celebrate Christmas.
Many life’s tragedies happened unexpectedly within the year,
Some people cursed their lives, in desolation and in despair;
May they/we feel the enlightenment, hope and strength to make a new start
Papa Santa, this is my loving wish this coming Christmas.
Our society is an indispensable unit to make the whole world happy,
May we all live together with love starting from ourselves and within our family;
May the spirit of true Christmas reigns and draws together those who went apart
Papa Santa, these are my other wishes this coming Christmas.
The year 2012 is about to end and 2013 is fast approaching,
May we close another chapter of our life with gratefulness on God’s blessings;
May we face the year ahead of us in prayer that peace and prosperity may impart
Papa Santa, these are all my loving wishes this coming Christmas.
