Christmas Roles

This 4th day of December will find
Millions musing about their Christmas roles.
They shall ponder, "What shall I be called upon
to do for, to give to, the cause of Jesus Christ?
They shall ask, "How shall my task compare
with that of the star and Biblical characters?"

The star's assignment was to guide.
The innkeeper's job was to house.
The Wisemen's role was to give and to worship.
The Shepherds were to look and tell their story.
The chief priests and scribes were to inform.
This Christmas, I ask, "What will God have me do?"
