Christmas Presents Past and Present

When the meaning of Christmas

Is disseminated to such a point

It becomes more about who has received the most or expensive gifts

Maybe it's no longer fit for purpose
or relevant

Not to long ago for Christmas 
children used to get a stocking
stuffed with nuts an apple and an orange and a handmade toy

Now what has come to be expected
is a Game's Console the latest
Mobile Phone , Computer and designers clothes

And are they happy , grateful , thankful

Lady Labyrinth December 20, 2019 at 6:00 PM more than likely not....in my experience. People will say, "oh, awareness and gratefulness is handed down from the parents", not necessarily. You can hand it down, the good values your parents instilled in you and the real meaning of Christmas, but without that understanding due to commercialisation and the sheer lack of empathy children have these days, self and selfishness takes centre stage.
