Christmas Poem 2006

CHRISTMAS

				Christmas day began
With a child of virgin birth
When Jesus, our Lord and Savior,
				Came to dwell on earth

This is a time we celebrate
				And thank our God above
For Sending His Son to save the world
Through His marvelous gift of love

Now, there are those who would take away
				The reason for the season
And have us proclaim Happy Holidays
				Instead of Merry Christmas

Let's hope that this is just a fad
				Something that will not last
And make each year become so sad
With the ghost of Christmas past

Rejoice, I say, and be filled with cheer
				Proclaim His Royal Birth
Spread glad tidings far and near
And pray for peace on earth

Keep Christ a part of Christmas
				He's the reason we celebrate
				Emmanuel, God with us
His Birth was oh so great

So don't allow this lowly few
To take Christ away from us
				Instead, proclaim His love anew
And make this a Merry Christmas

fourth stanza is epic that was directly from "the Muse", Whose son was born in a manger, in Bethlehem. grabbed me by the boo-boo, very impressive! i read quite a few poems til i read that stanza. i was wasting my time. thank you, and strive for that always, fellow gentlepoet!
