Christmas – Plum Cake
If you like Plum Cake
Do beware
For unripe plums
Can cause despair
Be very careful
With the flour
Sift and sift but
Don’t take an hour
Add some sugar
But do beware
Sugar is bad,
So do take care
Mix in some
Butter, this way
Use your fingers
washed today
Time to mix in
Some luscious plums,
Careful now, wash
That red tongue
Getting late now
Off to bed
Think of tomorrow’s
Christmas –
Of the Plum Cake ahead
