Notes About The Poem

Christmas Joys Await Us

     Only four, short days to Christmas, then it will be here.
     With family, presents and so much glittering cheer.
     Even our cats and dogs enjoy this blessed day!
     We buy them fun, new toys, with which to play.


     The tree we decorated with ornaments and lights.
     Which glow on the snow, this white winter’s night.
     The aroma from the kitchen is wondrous and mellow,
     While our youngest await, Saint Nick, that jolly fellow!


     We remember those who are no longer here.
     How they loved this day, with no time for tears!
     Decades down the road, when we are old and gray,
     With gratititude, for this holiday, we shall always pray!

Christmas is a lovely season for decorating, singing carols, coming in from the cold, enjoying the aromas and tastes of good food, giving thanks to God for his many gifts, being together, and remembering those no longer with us. Merry Christmas to your entire family. Make sure Eddie gets a Sharpie so he can practice autographing baseballs, lol.
