Christmas Faith

‘Nothing will be impossible with God,’
replied Gabriel to Mary.

Christmas opened
what prophecies foretold.

The tremble of epiphany
dropped from angel-songs on shepherd folk.

Magi astronomers desired to find
this incarnate mystery revealed.

Nativity of God was seen,
believed,
and heaven opened for eternity

as Mary kissed the promised child.

So well written, simply lovely. You started Soup during my absent years. I will read a few more of yours, I feel compelled by what I've read so far (this is #2).

PS has been a welcoming space. I decided to park my frequently re-edited collection of poems here so I wouldn't lose them in my messy word-files. The writing prompts for competitions are fun too. Glad you are able to write again. Sometimes life takes over and the pen just writes lists... J :)

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your Christmas faith through your unique poetic style. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
