Christmas and Santa
I have some doubts about this time of year,
where businessmen seek profits and applause,
while people cheer, propped up by ’nog and beer,
to celebrate a man called Santa Claus.
Not everyone joins in this festive time,
some don’t believe, don’t decorate their home,
but stay inside and sip a glass of wine,
refusing to comply with “when-in-Rome. . .”
We’ve always heard that Santa likes to give,
but there’s a dark side, things he likes to do.
He knows where all the naughty women live,
and so, I’ll tag this sonnet with #HimToo.
For me, the way to have a Christmas bright,
is stay at home and have a Silent Night!
