Christmas 2022

Christmas 2022 is fast approaching Where has the year really gone Well after two years of covid isolation Boris resigned his prime minster position He got us through brexit And a pandemic This wasn't enough For government and public The successor was Lizz Truss Who lasted a month through lack of trust We had the platinum jubilee Followed by the passing of our great Queen King charles iii took the thrown The economical climate totally unknown Blamed on a Russian with ideas of grandja President Putin upset the worlds veranda Price rises in fuel and food This for the public cannot be good The time of year is not the best Families struggling with pressures on the chest Electricity and gas prises through the roof Puttins greed being shown As the proof The public are struggling from day to day All stick together and help is all can say Christmas isn't doom and gloom It's about sharing caring bring laughter to the room You don't need to spend lots on family presents Just being there is enough showing your presence People think it's about spend spend spend In this climate it must end Love thy neighbour like oneself You don't need that naughty elf In years gone by a tangerine would do Followed by remade stuff with nails and glue Back then technolgy was that of unknown Love and rejoicing should be shown It's a time of giving and keep belief We will beat this crisis if we keep faith Christmas time is a great time of year Full of charitable things and good cheer Do something simple a support someone else Their need may be greater so loosen your belts Gift a little present and spread the cheer 2023 will surely be a better year Remember all those away from families Through work, finance and struggle or overseas Invite them in for rmince pies and a tea See smiles on the face for your generosity It's Christmas day in just one week No more presents for you to seek All wrapped up and under the tree Merry Christmas from the Alexander Church family
