This is our Christmas greeting to all of our friends, written because of our travel to Egypt and Rome this year.
When times make so many poor flee their homes
love's discovery offers potent charm
or if we seek to wander far and roam
culture is better comfort than known harm.
From Egypt we find death in ancient tombs
or life gift of river coursing through sand.
In Rome discover angels amid gloom
or rich wine and garlic tastes grown from land.
Wherever Christmas cheer finds you today
knelt by foot of cradle or bearing gift
let's hope mother's hugs and wisdom holds sway
because sharing web of life is heart's lift.
