Christ Came To Save Me

My thoughts turn at this time of year
to the incarnation of Christ's amazing birth
here is God displaying himself as a man
what a thought simply priceless worth

As I consider this great biblical truth
for my soul, the Godman came to deliver
all of my sins He would take on himself
His perfect sacrifice did what I could never

For 33 years later this Bethlehem babe
having grown up to be by God's will
a man destined to pay an awful price
for at Calvary's cross sinners came to kill

But this killing God had planned before time
it was God's purpose for sin to be put away
and only His son could achieve this feat
then man's sinfulness on the cross would stay

Then Jesus would leave the cross and the grave
showing resurrection power over death and decay
so back at His birth He had come to save
little old me turning my night into day
