Choices

Choices By Franklin Price 04/04/2022 God, please guide us in our choices, as we move from day to day, How we interact with others, how we choose the words we say. When you made us, you provided, our own choice of yes or no. Did you perceive, when looking back, how this choice of yours would go? We're created in your image. That's what the first book says was done, Put the first two in the Garden, the Tree of Knowledge, for choice one You put some fruit upon the tree, knowing knowledge opened eyes You told them not to take a bite, knowing humans would get wise Eve and Adam took a nibble, at the bidding of the snake Although warned of consequences, of Tree of Knowledge, did partake. You sent them from the Garden, into the world, and all alone Branches, of the Tree of Knowledge, have spread immensely, as they've grown Casting shadows on your wisdom, that's what learning tends to do. Time we trimmed the tree of knowledge and let your light come shining through Stop thinking that our choices, are the finest ones of all, Listen to your voice within us, when those choices came to call. You sent your son to die for us, another choice for yes or no YES, will lift us up to Heaven, when we die, the place we'll go Through Jesus, you provided, a way to look upon your face NO, will will make us non-believers, in your wisdom, love and grace Our knowledge and our choices can conflict or can agree Will we answer yes or no, when your voice says, “Follow me”? Will we ignore your presence and your whispers in our ear? Death is not a place of choices, that, for me, is very clear.
