Chippy and Chipper, playing in my yard; a hoard of blueberries surround tiny hole near my garage door; Chipper pops out and lightening dashes for my pear trees... a pause says, "hello"... the foraging resumes and the morning ritual has begun.

My husband says that the squirrels at the back of our vegetable garden come out of the woods, go into the garden and get green apples, then eat a bite or two and leave them behind. I don't think they have found the blueberries yet. I guess they would destroy them by trying to eat them green. I enjoyed reading your work. Way to go. Thanks for your visits to my page. Sara

I think squirrels will eat anything green. I saw one digging yesterday beneath a pear tree; I think he was looking for the rest of one that he'd bitten into. For a couple of years, I've watched the squirrels out there knocking down pears and carting them off. They'll knock of a dozen, take one away; I run out there and pick up the rest, while they're gone. If I don't, I don't get any. Thanks for stopping by Sara.
