I don't think it bothered him, Sara B., because I have seen him for about a week now and he seems unaffected. Some animals do have allergies just like humans though. Sara K.

This poem raises an interesting question, concerning wild animals and allergies. I think that animals have more resistance to germs and allergies than we humans. They have to be tougher. This is a cute poem, and a cute picture, too. :)

Chipmunks are such cute creatures. It seems your house and its surroundings are populated with small critters and birds of all kinds. beautiful haiku.

I put out some birdseed which helps to encourage both birds, squirrels, and chipmunks to come into feed, Valsa. I don't see very many squirrels, but the chipmunk population is getting larger or so it seems. I had cats but they all died and they were fixed so no kittens to replace them. I am thinking about getting some cats once again, but I really don't know if I should because of declining health. Sara K

Thank you for the humor, Gershon. I got some weed spray, but I haven't sprayed the ivy yet because they said it was supposed to rain and it did for which I am thankful, but weed killer has to be on the plant a few hours with some sun shining on it for it to work properly. I saw that chipmunk from the kitchen window and was wondering if it might break out from the poison ivy. Sara K

Ooooh, I hope not. That is such a good question. Hm, I had to put the question in the search engine. Although not as much as humans, they can have milder reactions to poison ivy if it gets on their belly or inner muzzle, but often eat the berries without harm, so? My hope and guess, he should probably be fine :)

I enjoyed reading your fun "Chipmunk" write. Many years ago, the boys got into poison ivy. They ended up in the hospital. Have a great/fun day writing away.......

Paula, those wild running plants can be very dangerous for some people. I have had a bout with it myself a long time ago. I have to be very careful not to get on me again. Sara K

Kim, I saw on TV on a show about animals but don't remember which program and the vet was treating a wild animal for a severe allergy. It was swollen with red eyes and looked like it would die unless someone did something for it so I am guessing that some wild animals like people will react to allergens.
