China's Rise

Those in the know surmise
   that China's rise
   dares coincide
   with America's slide
off the road of free enterprise

With China's population at 1.5 billion versus 300 million Americans it seemed inevitable. Good write.

Have you looked at the price of schoolbooks? As Trump's daddy knew, for those who know how to bilk government, it is easier than picking cherries to become rich! Look at all the government programmes funding courses which have absolutely nothing to do with basic education! Doesn't matter who is President, taxpayers ending up paying $300 per toilet seat or ballpeen hammer! Aloha! Rico

Good point. You ARE the 'stat man,' Robert! But it's not always about numbers: E.g., Tiny Israel, the size of New Jersey, with a mere 7.2 million Jews (out of 9 million population), more than holds its own against 23 surrounding enemy states, (now down to 19)... Chicago spends almost 20K per year per public school student vs. tawny suburbs spending of 12.5K. So Chicago schools are better right?! LOL. Anyway, Happy weekend, gw

Keith must get his facts from FOX News, as he certainly does not get them from the UN nor WHO! Our rankings did not slide, but tumbled under Trump! Aloha! Rico

FOX News admits it re-writes the news to please their advertisers. If you want to read facts, try foreign sources! Aloha! Rico

I don't know. Seems to me that our rankings tumbled most during the pandemic, which would have been the case no matter who was President. We just weren't prepared. If throwing money at a problem worked, the Chicago public schools would be the best in the nation. (They're about the worst, although their $$ spent per student are outrageously high -- $7k higher than the suburban schools which are among the best in the nation)... Stats don't always tell the whole story, I guess... Take good care now, Rico, ~ gw
