Notes About The Poem

China Doll

~ Oh, tiny little China doll ... I think I'll call you Sweetie, and dream grand things for you - castles, flying carpets, ventures wondrous, (until you're spinning your very own, of course) blinking soft within that impersonate princess' bloom - pretty as, with a quiet strength all your own, and a silly old fool called Daddy, who adores in you, still ... the tender bright of Momma's eyes. ~ Submitted on February 17, 2020 To the "Strand Select S Any Form Any Theme" Poetry Contest Brian Strand, Sponsor.

This is such a sweet and tender poem. Remembering holding my own little ones--with glistening eyes. I love this line " And dream grand things for you" Beautiful picture, both the poem and the photograph :)

Thank you so very much, PS, I'm so pleased you like this one, as it's very special to me. That is me and my youngest daughter, Alyssa, (who I wrote this for) ... many years, (and many dreams), ago ... <3
