Children's Laughter
Summer is
wet swimsuits
and bluejeans;
picnicking on green grass,
smells of backyard barbeques,
swimming pools clear as glass,
beach parties without end,
family vacations,
and tenting with a friend.
Summer is a lazy time of year;
folks reconnect with Mother Nature.
Depression gets supplanted by cheer,
and amidst the butterflies and bees;
wildflowers of every color waft
perfumed scents upon the slightest breeze.
Summer stores an abundance of hope
within the sounds of children's laughter;
building sandcastles, and skipping rope.
