Children Play Conkers

trees cast precious seed

nut brown in soft barb green case....

                                           children play conkers

Great haiku, Eamon! Funny how poems can trigger memories. I never knew of the game 'conkers', but only one family near us had had a horse chestnut tree. It snowed petals in Spring, and was loaded with nuts in the Fall. Huge tree, with broad leaves. Had always loved trees, but that one totally fascinated me. I don't need to close my eyes, to feel it in my heart...thank you! Best wishes...Mikki
