Children of Reaction

Taught to react
As soon as we're born
Hand and eye coordination
Is the societal norm
Sports and video games
Racking up virtual kills
While neglecting what matters
Critical thinking Skills

Busy pushing buttons
Or saying who's to blame
It is a society of reactors
Discouraged from using our brains
But now I'm becoming aware
Of my glaring deficiency
And there's so much more to life
Than the gospel of TV

But I think I found an angle
You can take to the bank
If they say it on TV
It's just a mental crank
If it tells us aliens are invading
Don't react to the lies
And if Jesus returns on the news
It will be only holy hype
