Children are all the same continent to continent.
Innocent, impressionable; full of youthful exuberance
And wide-eyed wonder.
They're endlessly curious about the world
Around them; sponges absorbing
All that their minds can conceive. They internalize
Things said, repeat words they hear, imitate
Behaviors they observe.
To raise good children, parents must teach them
Family values, proper etiquette, good manners,
Communication skills required to function
In today's society. They're receptive to acts
Of kindness and compassion.
Children are all the same continent to continent.
Innocent, impressionable; full of youthful exuberance
And wide-eyed wonder.
They all want the same things: reassurance, freedom
To explore and discover, love, comfort, encouragement,
Protection, guidance, attention. They need people
To play with, be it other children or with grown-ups;
Preferably their parents.
They imbibe virtues such as respect, fairness,
And honesty, regardless of national origin, race, religion,
Or language. They comprehend gestures of genuine
Friendship, and they're perceptive enough to immediately
Detect hints of insincerity or instability.
Children are all the same continent to continent.
Innocent, impressionable; full of youthful exuberance
And wide-eyed wonder.
