childish and childlike in no way similar except for spelling Yet they often get thrown together as similar by ignoramuses who do not understand one is a compliment while the other has a mean connotation.

True, indeed. I covet being somewhat more childlike, but I flee being childish at every turn.

I was painting all day with a new puppy who wanted under my feet where the paints were and an old puppy outside the glass whimpering because she wants me too. They cannot both have me for the OLD SHE hates the new puppy so far and snarls and growls and is mean toward him.
