Childhood

CHILDHOOD the one where I climb a hill am bit by a dog i never see or hear but hereafter every bark every skittery sound bites my skin the one where my feet happily pump the wind i sail over rooftops and trees playground in and out of focus the one where i remove glasses everytime my crush walks past my classroom door never noticing but i see everything the one where the bus bumbles on rural roads picking up the scented afternoon of a petrified skunk the one where no one is home and i remember childhood 9/1/2018

Yep, those skunks scents never seem to leave the memory. Nevertheless, a great tour of your childhood.

Its glimpses and flashes can be quick, poignant grabs, just as the delivery of your mirage remembrances were to me. Nicely done - went straight to my heart. All the best ... CayCay

...so many versions of a childhood...that repeated qualifier..."the one where" stitches this together with a thread of "childlike" memory.
