Notes About The Poem

(Chihuhahan Desert outside El Paso, Texas--I miss its simplicity and barren beauty)

CHIHUHAHAN DESERT

Cactus stand guard in the desert heat, their shadows trembling on pale sand, silence holding its breath.

Intriguing countryside but wouldn't want to be stuck there ~

A grandeur place of infinite beauty that is unsurpassed, dotted with life, both in the wide open spaces and in well-hidden spots. So unique in its own rights ~well said.

Love the desert. Have spent days roaming the silence. Sat in the shade of many a saguaro. Wonderful imagery!
