ChiffChaff Bird

 on a morning walk with my friend
        we spotted a bird
 with a chiff-chaff  chiff-chatt  tweet
              he was small and lively
    olive brown with short wings
                           and dark legs
     he was busy eating an insect
        and we were not sure what he was
                    but with some investigation
   we are fairly sure he was a ChiffChaff 
            not usually found in Canada
     but sometimes they end up here
                              as vagrants
     and it was delightful to find one
                                     in our forest ~

This Saturday, under my live oak tree with my grandson, I had the privilege of seeing a red cardinal, a blue jay, and hummingbirds, all in pairs, along with the many mockingbirds that gather around my tree.
