Chicken Soup For a Recovering Mind

After a brief illness, some dry toast and the turgid sloshing of rehashed thoughts. Slowly the former becomes the new now. I bathe in new invigorating light. This is how we recreate our world; with carefully paced electro-chemical reactions, brittle notions are chewed soft like moccasins until they fit new feet and legs. This is how we create a life no sudden catharsis or evolution, just one thought hammered to another until a scaffold is erected, something that resembles the bones of a recently absented God.

This progresses so well I find it hard to pick a favored line; the entire substance is illuminating and intriguing. Then the use of scaffold is so strong! Elizabeth

So who did the absenting? I find I do that myself - "Where did you go?" I ask, knowing I'm the one who has been distant. Good to read, hope you're on the mend!

Hi Jeff, doing fine, this poem was written (badly) last year and so is a major rewrite of that draft. I guess illness disconnects us from our own godhead at times. I think that's what I am trying to say here. Glad the post worked for you. All the best EA.
