Chicken or Egg

All day long, I live in fright,
I have to get the answer right.
At night, I fret the hours away -
"Does day follow the night,
or does night follow the day?"

Thoughts of a zebra's back
are giving me a heart attack.
I have to get the answer right.
Are zebras white on black
or are they black on white?

Living on an island by a lake
leaves lots of room for a mistake.
It's a question I can't shake.
Does my land, water surround
when I have water all around?

My dad once said, "What's puzzling me
is 'Won't you marry me?'".
My mom quickly answered, "Yes".
My dad wondered,
"Yes - you will not?
Or yes - you will"?
That's all I've got.

Haha, uhoh, I'll have to think about those answers. Hmm, I didn't know that some zebras have brown stripes!
