Greetings Sara, The metaphor of an empty bird feeder that aligns with human well being lingers in the reader's mind strikingly, like all insightful poetry should. Congratulations! Be well dear lady. Brian

Brian, Thank you for your thoughtful reading of my work. I appreciate you taking the time to do so. We are back settled down from all that has happened from COVID and my husband driving my car into the house. Your visits are always encouraging. Sara

Perhaps better our bird feeder define us than the clutter on our desk define us... Intriguing... :) gw

Gershon, My desk would define me as well so sad that I am so unmotivated to get it tidy once again. Your visit is encouraging. Sara

The sadness is more about the owner's health; no place to go, but the birds will eventually find another place to feed. Moving and beautiful poem! Blessings, Paulette

Yes, Paulette, the birds moved on immediately. I don't know where they went but in nature they are used to change so are we as humans used to change. Thanks for the nice comment. Sara

Victor, I am sure the birds found another place to rest their weary wings after flying around all day. I miss the tree's presence filling with so many different species of birds each day. Thank you for your visit. Sara

Hello Sara, I hope that the birds did no die. Yes the birds do need help with food for the winter. I would suggest put the birdfeeder higher so the squirrles don't eat the birdseeds/ Hugs.

Darlene, I don't think the birds died but they would in the past sit in the willow tree and feed from the birdfeeder that I had hanging on one of the tree limbs. I need to do something about feeding them again for it brings joy to my kitchen to see birds and nature from my kitchen window. Thanks for the visit. Sara

Tom, I am doing okay. I have been better but I was a lot younger. I just have all the pains and complaints of the aging generation. It could be worse. Well, the weekend is about 1/4 gone and I haven't had the time to enjoy it yet but then again I did write a couple of poems and that was enjoyment. Thanks for the visit to my page. Sara
