Cherry Blossoms

we are cherry blossoms in the wind
here one day gone the next
the petals floating gently to the ground
like small silk snow flakes
these are the years we've lived
each one precious
disappearing in the blink of an eye
the cherry's scent so soft and sweet
its the laughter we share with others and the joy we bring
cherry blossoms
are not beautiful because of how they look
the beauty of a cherry blossom comes from its fleeting nature
the way it seems to bloom only to
disappear once again in the blink of an eye
in that sense every human
is a cherry blossom in the wind
